Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim convicted in murder case

Bhubaneswar: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted in a murder case.

The self-claimed godman among six accused persons was convicted by the CBI Special Court in Panchkula for killing Ranjit Singh in 2002.The sentence will be announced on October 12.

Rajnjit Singh was a supporter of Ram Rahim. He was killed on July 10, 2002.

An FIR in the murder case was registered on December 3, 2003.

Recently, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had dismissed a petition seeking the transfer of the trial again Ram Rahim from the CBI Court in Panchakula to any other CBI court.

Earlier, Ram Rahim and three others were found guilty in murder of Journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati, who exposed the ‘spiritual leader’ involved in alleged sexual exploitation of women at his ashram.
