Devotees face trouble as dense fog envelopes Odisha’s holy town

Puri: A thick blanket of fog covered Puri town since 4 pm today causing troubles for devotees to witness Shree Jagannath Temple from the grand road (Bada Danda). The temple was not clearly visible in the thick blanket of fog by 5 pm.

The situation was worse for motorists who were seen driving their vehicles with headlights on. Tourists and residents of the town faced difficulties in their movement.

Devotees were unable to witness the ‘Nilachakra’ and ‘Patitapbana bana’ of the Shree Mandir. “Visibility was low in Jagamohan, Natya Mandap and Bhoga Mandap due to the dense fog. Many devotees felt disheartened as they failed to witness the ‘Neta Bandha’ ritual,” a devotee said.

Yesterday also there was a cover of fog in the holy town following the sunset.
