Puri: Thousands of devotees thronged the pilgrim town of Puri today on the occasion of Nabajoubana Darshan of Lord Jagannath and His siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.

As per the decision taken by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Paramanik Darshan of the deities will be held between 8 am and 9 am. As many as 7000 tickets were sold for the Paramanik Darshan while the price of each ticket has been fixed at Rs 100.

The Paramanik Darshan ticket holders will be allowed to enter the temple through Dakshina Swara (South Gate).

The General Darshan of the deities will be allowed from 9 am to 11 am.

The Snana Jatra of Lord Jagannath and His siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra was held on June 4, following which the deities were kept away from public view for 14 days (Anasara period). The popular belief is that after the ritualistic bath during Snana Jatra, the deities develop fever and therefore do not return to the sanctum sanctorum.

Today, the deities are giving darshan in youthful form after getting cured from fever.
