DGP reviews anti-Maoist operations in Odisha’s Swabhiman Anchal

Malkangiri: DGP Abhay Kumar today began his two-day visit to Malkangiri district. As per reports, the DGP reached Papalametala police station in a helicopter at 2 pm to undertake a visit to Left Wing Extremism affected Swabhiman Anchal of the district.

Abhay discussed with senior police officials on anti-Maoist operations and measures to expedite the government’s development schemes in the area. This apart, the DGP discussed with BSF DIG about the coordination between police and BSF in carrying out the anti-red rebel operations.

Accompanied by senior police officials, the DGP also visited the Gurupriya bridge and reviews the security arrangements. He also paid visits to Badapadar BSF camp and Janabai and Jantapie areas.

Additional Satyajit Mohanty, Additional DG Binayatosh Mishra, Intelligence Director Radha Krushna Shrama, IG Rekha Lohani, IG (Operations) Amitabh Thakur and DIG Aniruddh Singh went to the Swabhiman Anchal along with the DGP.

After taking charge as DGP, this is the first time Abhay is visiting the Swabhiman area.
