The gangster siblings, their three aides–Guddu, Bhajana Sahu and Debasish—were produced before the court.

The four accused in the murder of Deepak Mallick alias Dipu and Om Prakash Swain alias Om were brought from Choudwar Circle Jail on the outskirts of the city.

However, another accused Nirmal Rout could not be produced before the court on health grounds, sources said.

Following their court appearance, they were sent back to Choudwar Circle Jail amid tight security.

Yesterday, Twin City Commissionerate police had sought seven days further remand of the Dhalsamanta brothers for further interrogation and had pleaded before the court to handcuff them while producing the duo before the court.

Later in the evening yesterday, police grilled the working president of Cuttack Nagar Yuvak Sangha Debasish Ghosh for his alleged links with the notorious duo.

After nearly two hours of questioning at Chauliaganj police station, Ghosh was allowed to leave. Police reportedly asked him about the matters pertaining to financial transactions and its source of funding.

I cooperated with the police during interrogation, Ghosh said after coming out of the police station.

In another development, Commissionerate police rounded up an aide of DS brothers—Chiku– from near the SDJM court this morning.
