Dhamnagar MLA Bishnu Sethi passes away

Bhubaneswar: Dhamnagar MLA and BJP leader Bishnu Sethi passed away at AIIMS here, hospital sources said today. He was 61.

Sethi was suffering from kidney-related ailments and undergoing treatment at the healthcare facility for the past two months. He breathed his last while being treated at the ICU of the hospital.

He had developed lungs infection and suffered brain haemorrhage, the hospital authorities said.

He was the Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Legislative Assembly and Vice President of BJP’s Odisha unit.

He was elected to the Assembly from Dhamnagar constituency in 2019 and Chandbali constituency in 2000.

Born in 1961 in Tihidi of Bhadrak district, Sethi was also a poet and writer.
