Dhanupali IIC lodges FIR against his former incumbent in Odisha’s Sambalpur

Sambalpur: The inspector-in-charge (IIC) of Dhanupali police station in Sambalpur district today lodged an FIR against his former PS in-charge, alleging that the latter has kept several important files in her possession and is not returning the same even if she has joined a PS of Bolangir district.

This incident has become the talk of the two districts as it is a weird occurrence involving police.

The former IIC identified as Anita Pradhan was transferred to Bolangir nearly four months ago.

As per the FIR lodged by the present IIC Ranjan Biswal, the cop is not able to chargesheet accused persons in a number of criminal cases in the absence of requisite files. This was reported by Biswal to Nabarangpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Rohit Verma in a recent crime meeting. Taking the matter seriously, the SP later ordered Biswal to lodge an FIR and register a case in this regard.

Dhanupali police have registered a case (No-369/2023) and launched a probe, which is underway.
