Dharmendra points out errors in video on Odisha poet Haldhar Nag

Bhubaneswar: While expressing thanks to litterateur and film director Sampooran Singh Kalra aka Gulzar and Bharatbala for short film titled ‘Gulzar Presents Haldhar Nag’, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today pointed out some errors presented in the video.

In a tweet message, the Union Minister said Nag is not from Sambalpur district, as stated in the short film. The Padma Shri awardee is from Bargarh district, he mentioned. The video also stated that Nag was born to a tribal family which is another error, said Pradhan, adding that the poet was from an economically weaker family.

In the video, released on YouTube a few days back, Gulzar begins his narration in Hindi with “I am writing a letter to you Haldhar. Son of the soil of Sambalpur, this Adivasi poet. His language is Kosli.”

Gulzar narrated a brief summary about Nag in the 7.58-minute-long story.
