At least two persons have died and 30 others have been affected due to diarrhoea in a village in Odisha’s Rayagada district in the last two days, reports said today.

According to reports, of the 30 affected persons, the condition of around ten patients is said to be critical and are undergoing treatment at Kalyansinghpur Community Health Centre (CHC). Besides, a medical team is providing treatment to the victims of the water-borne infection in Pidua village under Palama gram panchayat in Kalyansinghpur block in the district.

"A mobile health unit along with a medical team have been sent to the village to provide health services to the affected people," said Kalyansinghpur BDO Prabir Kumar Pradhan.

The block administration has provided Rs 2,000 under Harishchandra Yojana and Rs 5,000 from Red Cross fund to the family members of the two deceased, he added.
