Sambalpur: At least 80 students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya located at Goshala in Sambalpur district are suffering from severe Diarrhoea. A seven-member team of the Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) department today visited the residential school and took stock of the situation.
After the school authorities informed the department about the serious condition, the medical team acting on Sambalpur CDMO’s directions reached the educational institution and provided the necessary treatment to the affected students. However, none of the school inmates needed to shift to a hospital for further treatment, an official source said.
“The inmates had consumed Rice, Roti, three different curries and Kheer last night. Later, they started vomiting and had loose motions. Immediately, the principal of the school Sudhansu Kumar Das informed the CDMO in Sambalpur about it. However, conditions of the students gradually improved by today morning,” a spokesperson of the Navodaya Vidyalaya stated.
