Differently-abled Odisha man petitions District Collector to find a bride

Angul: In a weird incident, a differently-abled man requested the District Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain to search for a bride for the former, during a public grievance redressal meeting held today at Chhendipada block development office in Angul.

According to an official source, the man identified as Sanjeev Mohapatra and younger son of Muralidhar Mohapatra from Nuapada village in the district, had come to the meeting with his grievance.

Sanjeev mentioned in his grievance application that his parents are elderly persons. His elder brother has been staying along with the latter’s family elsewhere. Hence, taking care of the aged parents and managing the family affairs has become difficult for him. Hence, he is badly in need of a bride to effectively manage the household affairs, the man mentioned.

“As I am differently-abled, no one is showing interest to give a daughter in marriage with me. Hence, I will remain obliged if the District Collector arranges a bride for me,” Sanjeev said in his grievance.

Interestingly, the incident has become the talk of the town.
