Digi Dhan Mela inaugurated in Odisha capital

As part of the nationwide drive to promote cashless economy through the use of digital mode of transactions, Digi Dhan Mela was inaugurated in Odisha capital.

As many as 23 banks, BSNL, India Post, Common Service Centre, UIDAI, Oil marketing companies, Balmer Lawrie, Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS), and private e-wallet operators put up stalls during the day-long exhibition and sensitization of digital payment systems and advantages.

Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Ollywood actors Sabyasachi Mishra, Archita Sahu and other dignitaries of Niti Ayog were present on the occasion.

In his address Dharmendra Pradhan spoke on the need and the efforts of Union government to shift the focus to digital payments. He also conveyed the details of launch of BHIM app.

Suresh Prabhu in his address emphasized on the changes which has happened and stressing the need to convert to digital payment even in small vendors like fruits, hair cutting salons etc.
