Bhadrak: Police today seized a huge amount of country-made liquor and arrested two women for allegedly manufacturing and selling the same near their house at Ghusuripokhari village under Bhadrak Rural Police limits in Bhadark district.
The accused women have been identified as Saraswati Singh, a diploma degree holder, and her mother-in-law.
According to reports, the duo was operating the illegal trade at their house backyard for past few days.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted raid and seized more than 1,000 litre country-made liquor. Following this, the two women were apprehended by the police.
However, accused Saraswati’s two sons who are involved in illegal manufacturing of country-made liquor absconded from the place after getting information about the raid.
The police also seized Rs 1 lakh cash, a car and two scooters from the spot.
Source said that Saraswati has completed her diploma degree in civil engineering.
