In a bid to make the process easier for differently abled persons to obtain disability certificate in Odisha capital, the government has decided to provide it on single window by holding a camp.

The instant certificate will be provided to hundreds of persons with disabilities at a camp, organised by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to empower them in several sectors.

A preparatory meeting was held yesterday by the BMC to discuss about the process under which the beneficiaries will obtain the certificate.

According to decision, the applicants will be registered online, following which the doctors of different departments will provide the certificate. The applicants will undergo the instant medical test for the certificate at the camp.

There will be different counters at the camp.

Besides, arrangement will also be made for providing Unique Disability Identity Card, launched by the Centre, to persons with disabilities at the camp. The objective of the centrally sponsored project is to enable the persons with disabilities to obtain the new UDID card / Disability Certificate to avail schemes and benefits provided by the Centre through its various Ministries and their Departments.
