Disproportionate Assets case: College teacher in Vigilance net

Balasore: Vigilance sleuths today raided the houses of a block grant teacher, Ramchandra Upadhyay, of Talanagar College in Soro here on charges of amassing property disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Acting on a complaint, a five-member team of the anti-corruption unit conducted raid at four places, including his house at Asimila under Bahanaga block and two buildings at Talanagar Chhak.

The Vigilance team has so far seized over Rs 3 lakh cash and gold and silver during the search, sources said.

However, the exact amount of disproportionate assets possessed by the college teacher will be revealed after completion of the search drives, sources added.
