Disrobed body of woman found on riverbank: Deceased’s family suspects rape prior to supari killing in Odisha’s Keonjhar
Keonjhar: Bringing a twist to the supari killing of a woman identified as Sunita Ghana whose disrobed body was found on the riverbank of Malda on September 20 in Keonjhar district, the deceased’s family today alleged that the victim was raped prior to being murdered.
According to a police source, the woman’s husband Suresh Parida had engaged four supari killers to execute the murder plan. Sunita had gone missing on September 3 and was subsequently found dead. The probe team today conducted a crime scene recreation with two arrested persons.
Family members of the victim woman were present during the crime scene recreation.
“The body of Sunita was earlier found under mysterious circumstances nearly three kilometers away from the crime spot. A preliminary investigation suggested that she was killed two to three days prior to when her body was found on the riverbank,” a senior official of Town police station said.
“We got to hear that five persons including four supari killers and Sunita’s husband Suresh Parida are involved in the crime. The four supari killers are Champa Munda, Baya Munda, Chandramani Nayak and Dinabandhu Barik. She was murdered in a forest near Basantpur under Banspal block. She was raped and then murdered,” Sunita’s cousin brother Rajat Mahakud alleged.
“Mahendra Murmu Sir (Sadar SDPO) had asked us to accompany the probe team and go to the crime spot. Five persons have killed my sister (Sunita). We demand that the culprits be brought to justice,” the victim’s brother Subash Ghana stated.
