Bhubaneswar: Some of the District Collectors in Odisha today extended the earlier announced date of opening and rescheduled the school timing in their respective districts, after summer vacation.

The administrative decision was taken in view of prevalent heat wave conditions in several districts of the State and following a notification issued by School and Mass Education (S&ME) department directing all District Administrations to take a final call with regard to the opening of schools and timings.

Freshly announced timing is applicable to all private, government, and government-aided schools.

District-wise rescheduled timings are:

Nabarangpur- The rescheduled timing of classes is from 6.30 AM to 10.30 AM, which shall be effective from June 18 to June 22, 2024.

Bhadrak- All types of schools having Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary & Higher Secondary classes will remain closed up to June 20, 2024.

Rayagada- The rescheduled timing of classes is from 6.30 AM to 10.30 AM, which shall be effective from June 18 to June 20, 2024.

Kandhamal- All schools will run between 6.30 AM and 10.30 AM from June 18 to June 21, 2024.

Mayurbhanj- All schools in the district will remain closed from June 18 to June 20, 2024.

Nuapada- All schools (having Class-I to Class-XII) will remain closed from June 18 to June 20, 2024 and will open after summer vacation on June 21 with usual timing.

Koraput- All schools will open as per earlier announced date and the classes will run between 6.30 AM and 10.00 AM every day.

Ganjam- The date of opening all schools has been extended till June 20, 2024.

Deogarh- All schools will run between 6.30 AM and 10.30 AM from June 18 onwards.

Sundargarh- All schools in the district will remain closed up to June 20, until further orders.

Sambalpur- All schools in the district will remain closed up to June 20, until further orders.

Khordha- The rescheduled timing of classes is from 6.30 AM to 10.30 AM, which shall be effective from June 18 to June 20, 2024.

Jajpur- All schools will run between 6.30 AM and 10.30 AM for four days starting June 18.

Jharsuguda- All schools will remain closed on June 18. However, the classes will run between 6.30 AM and 10.30 AM on June 19 and June 20, 2024.

Balasore- All schools will remain closed on June 18. However, the classes will start from 6.30 AM on June 19, 2024.
