Baripada: A divyang girl was allegedly raped at a forest in Kathachua area under Sarat police limits in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district.

According to reports, a youth had kidnapped the girl when she was alone at her house and taken her to a forest, where he allegedly raped her.

Though the incident took place on July 31, it came to fore after the mother of the victim lodged a complaint in this regard with Sarat police yesterday.

Cops have detained the accused for questioning and further investigation is underway.
