In a shocking incident, a homeopathic doctor fired at a person injuring the latter critically over a petty issue at Indradhanu Market in Nayapalli area of Odisha capital, today.
According to sources, Maheswar Routray, a CESU staff, was urinating near a garbage heap close to doctor Biswabhusan Pradhan's clinic at Indradhanu Market here. In the meantime, the doctor came out of his clinic and opposed Routray. They both had a heated exchange of words following which Pradhan took out a revolver and fired at Routray.
He sustained bullet injuries on his left leg and was rushed to Capital Hospital here for treatment, sources added.
"I was urinating near a heap of garbage close to the clinic. The doctor opposed me to which I replied that i wouldn't have urinated here if the place would have been clean. He got furious over my reply and fired at me," an injured Routray told media persons at the hospital.
Routray was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition deteriorated.
The doctor was immediately arrested after the incident and the revolver was seized from his possession.
