Rayagada: A double murder rocked Odisha's Rayagada district as a youth allegedly murdered a person after the latter killed the former's elder brother at Sukulabhata village under Ambadola police limits.

According to reports, a dispute was prevailing between Makara Nayak and Karuna Nayak of the village over sorcery. It took an ugly turn as Karuna thrashed Makara to death with a lathi at a forest near the village last evening.

On knowing about the incident, Makara's younger brother Nakula, in a fit of rage, hacked Karuna to death with an axe.

Police today arrested Nakula after preliminary investigation and forwarded him to court. The two bodies have been recovered for post-mortem and further investigation is underway.
