Double murder: Former Odisha legislator sent on remand again

Jharsuguda: The Chakardharnagar Police of Chhattisgarh today took former Brajrajnagar legislator Anup Sai on a one-day remand again. Though a plea for another three-day remand of Anup was made before the Raigarh Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court, the police were granted only one day remand of the former legislator.

Anup will be produced in the court again at 4 pm tomorrow. If Anup agrees for a narco-analysis test, the court will hear on the police’s plea regarding this tomorrow.

The Chakardharnagar Police took Anup on a three-day remand on February 19 for questioning in connection with a double murder committed in 2016. After the remand was over, Anup was produced before the court on February 22.

Raigarh SP Santosh Singh said Anup and his driver were not cooperating with the police during questioning.
