Double murder: Man kills brother, nephew in Odisha’s Sambalpur

Sambalpur: A man allegedly killed his elder brother and nephew over a land dispute at Taladihi village under Govindpur police limits in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.

According to reports, a heated exchange of words took place between accused Sanatan Majhi and his brother Dilip over the issue on August 9 night. Sanatan lost his cool and attacked his brother, sister-in-law and 4-year-old nephew.

The three sustained critical injuries and were dumped in a septic tank by Sanatan on the very day. As the matter came to fore, police detained the accused for questioning.

While Dilip and his son were found dead inside the septic tank, the woman was surprisingly alive even after being in the tank for two days. She was rescued in an unconscious state and rushed to a hospital for treatment.
