Balangir: A double murder incident rocked Odisha’s Balangir as a woman and her mother-in-law were found dead inside their house at Nuapada village under Tusura police limits in the district, today.
The deceased have been identified as Ambika Meher, wife of Sudhanshu Meher, and her mother-in-law Premashila Meher. The bodies were found in a pool of blood with throats being slit.
According to reports, Ambika’s brother, who lives in the same village, spotted the two women lying dead in the house at around 10 am. Sudhanshu, who runs a jewellery shop in the area, had gone to his workplace at that time.
On being informed, police reached the village, recovered the bodies for post-mortem and initiated an investigation into the incident.
The reason behind the killing of the two was yet to be ascertained while efforts were on by police to identify the murderers.
