With the Nabakalebar of the Jagannath trinity due in 2015 , Union Minister of State for Railways Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury today said the doubling of Khurda Road-Puri rail line will be completed by March 2015 and boost Puri's rail connectivity for the grand event.
“The project will be completed by end of March 2015,” the Minister told media persons here.
The Indian Railways had sanctioned money in 2001 for the doubling of the 44 km long rail line from Khurda Road to Puri.
The Minister is in Bhubaneswar to flag off the inaugural run of the Puri-Ajmer Express at Puri Railway Station today. The new train will be a bi-weekly express and will run via Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur, Titlagarh, Raipur, Nagpur and Ahmedabad, Railway sources said.
