Students of Delhi Public School (DPS) of Damanjodi today boycotted classes claiming that sexual harassment allegations levelled against seven of the school’s teachers were not true.

DPS Damanjodi students on agitation

The students who had come out in support of the teachers who have been charged with sexual harassment of girl students claimed this to be the handiwork of some individuals to defame their school and demanded stringent action against them.

The students demanded the immediate transfer of the school’s principal.

Later in the day, students withdrew their agitation following discussions with the local Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) and Nalco officials.

It may be noted here that two separate complaints were lodged with the Damanjodi police on July 23 against seven teachers of the school charging them of sexually harassing some girl students.

The complaints were lodged by the school’s principal and the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Koraput separately.
