Dreaded criminal SK Mehtab nabbed following encounter in Odisha

Kendrapara: The Kendrapara police nabbed dreaded criminal SK Mehtab following an encounter near Kansara here late last night.

The criminal, who sustained bullet injuries in his both legs during the encounter, was later admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.

The cops also seized a pistol, Rs 2000 cash and a mobile phone from his possession. Police said several criminal cases have been pending against Mehtab at various police stations in Kendrapara, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Jagasinghpur districts.

Mehtab is the main accused in firing at businessman Vivekananda Maharana near Gulnagar bridge here last month, police added.
