Drive-in COVID vaccination date extended in Bhubaneswar with few modifications

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has extended the date for drive-in vaccination against COVID-19 for people aged above 45 years.

Eligible beneficiaries can visit the  five drive-in centres in the city for both first and second dose of Covaxin from May 24 to May 28. They are advised to book their slots starting today through the link selfregistration.cowin.gov.in.

The five drive-in vaccination centres are located at: Esplanade One Mall (Parking lot) at Rasulgarh, Utkal Kanika Galleria (Parking lot) at Kalpana Square, Symphony Mall (Parking lot) at Rudrapur,  KIIT University (Cricket stadium) at Patia and DN Regalia Mall (Parking lot) at Kalinganagar.

However, the BMC has made a few modifications in the process of drive-in vaccination:

-Beneficiaries will have to get down of their vehicles and sit at designated place for the inoculation.

-After taking the jab, they will have to wait for at least 30 minutes in the waiting area.

“Without slot booking, no vehicle will be allowed inside the venue. Daily 500 slots will be made available at each location,” said the BMC.
