Drive to identify COVID unvaccinated people in Odisha from tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: To ensure that nobody is left out in COVID-19 vaccination programme, Odisha Government is all set to launch a drive to trace unvaccinated people in the state from tomorrow.

Informing this, Health and Family Welfare Director Bijay Panigrahi today said ASHA and Anganwadi workers will visit door-to-door in villages to identify the unvaccinated people and  prepare a list of them. The drive will continue for a month.

” So far, 30 lakh people have not taken the second dose in the state. The first dose vaccination will complete by December this year. To meet the target, the number of vaccination centres will be increased. More vaccination centres will be opened in villages with larger population,” he added.

Director of Health Services Bijay Mohapatra said, “Awareness programmes will be carried out to encourage them visit vaccination centres for the first dose. The state Government is committed to achieve the target of 100 per cent vaccination of first dose and due second dose by December end.”

So far, 3,74,63,734 vaccine doses (2,58,00,673 first dose and 1,16,63,061 second dose) have been administered in the state. Today, over  2.01 lakh vaccines were administered at 2,122 centres, including 32 private facilities, in the state.
