Driver held in hit-and-run case in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police today arrested the driver of a luxury SUV in a hit-and-run case in the Odisha capital here.

The accused driver has been identified as Saubhagya Kumar Bagh (33) of Kuagola village under Jamankira police limits in Sambalpur district. He was staying in Chandrasekharpur area of the capital city for last few days, sources said.

The police have also seized a Range Rover SUV bearing registration number OD-23-K-0006 in connection with the case.

According to police, the Range Rover had hit a bike near Power House Square in the city here yesterday day afternoon. The biker as well as the pillion rider sustained critical injuries in the incident.

Soon after the mishap, the driver along with the SUV had left the spot.

On being informed, the police reached the spot and rushed the injured duo to a hospital. The Capital police registered a case in this regard and arrested the accused driver.
