Driver killed as truck hits tree

Phulbani, Mar 25:

A driver of a truck carrying optical fibres was killed when the vehicle hit a mango tree as he failed negotiate a curve on the outskirts of Phulbani town today, police said.

While the ill-fated truck’s helper fled from the spot, the deceased driver is yet to be identified, sources said.

The vehicle has been seized by the police while it has sent the driver’s body for post-mortem to the district headquarters hospital, the sources added.
