Drones to monitor movement of the Maoists: Police DG

Koraput: Drones will be put into service to keep an eye on the movements of Maoists in Koraput, Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Sunil Kumar Bansal said today during his visit to the district.

This modern robotic device will help regulate the movement of red rebels and at least six drones will be pressed into service for the purpose, the Odisha Police chief expressed.

DGP Bansal also condemned the ultra members resorting to violence. “No one has the right to cause any harm to the lives and properties of common men. I appeal to the outlawed Maoist faction to renounce violence and join the mainstream of society. Stringent actions will be taken against the Maoists, whoever will try to disturb the law and order situation,” the DGP stated.

Later in the day, the DGP landed at the HAL helipad in Sunabeda and discussed with senior police and Border Security Force (BSF) officials regarding the ongoing anti-Maoist operation in Koraput.
