Drug smuggler Raja has links with international mafia: Odisha Police

Bhubaneswar: Arrested drug smuggler Sk. Raja has international connections, said a top official of Odisha Police’s Crime Branch on Wednesday. Addressing media persons, Crime Branch SP PK Bhoi said the probe agency has got vital leads regarding Raja’s suspected links with drug peddlers from Bangladesh and Bhutan.

Bhoi further stated during Raja’s remand period the Crime Branch has received many crucial information. A team of Crime Branch STF is also likely to visit Bangladesh and Bhutan to probe Raja’s links, he added.

This apart, the STF has traced arms, multi-storey buildings and a huge stash of cash owned by Raja.

Raja was arrested by the STF from Padmapur under Khandagiri police limits on Sunday on charges of his involvement illegal drug trade. Also, Rs 1 lakh cash, one pistol loaded with live ammunitions, six mobile phones ATM cards and other incriminating materials were seized from his possession.
