Drunk Headmaster found sleeping in school, video goes viral

Puri: The true picture of poor education system in state-run schools came to light with a video went viral on social media showing a school Headmaster sleeping on the chair in an inebriated state during working hours.

The incident was reported from a primary school under Gop block in Puri district where the Headmaster identified as Gourang Palei had entered the school in an inebriated state and slept on the chair without care for anything.

The students tried to wake him up, but the drunk Headmaster was in his unconscious stage of sleep. The entire episode was shot on a mobile phone and the video went viral on social media.

The video drew sharp reaction from the parents and guardians, who are sending their children to school for education.

Reacting to the video, the Block Education Officer Basant Kumar Mishra said that strong action will be taken against the Headmaster after probe by a team on Monday.
