Sundargarh: A motorcyclist was fined Rs 22,500 for drunken driving and violating other rules of Motor Vehicle Act in Odisha’s Sundargarh district. A team of MVI officials and police personnel was checking documents of motorists near Ranibandha Chhak in Sundargarh town on Saturday.
The motorcyclist, Libhaban Bada driving from Jalada side towards Rourkela was stopped by the MVI officials at the check point.
During questioning and examining the vehicle documents, the officials found that the motorist was driving under the influence of alcohol. They also came to know he was not having a driving license and the vehicle’s insurance document.
The MVI officials fined him Rs 10,000 for drunken driving and another Rs 12,500 for being unable to provide his driving license and other necessary vehicle documents.
