Drunk youth thrashes grandfather to death in Odisha

Keonjhar: A youth allegedly thrashed his grandfather to death in an inebriated state at Mundasahi village under Champua police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district today.

According to reports, accused Bijay Munda created ruckus in the house after consuming liquor. His grandfather Raaj Munda opposed his act, following which he attacked the elderly man with a crowbar.

The victim sustained critical injuries and was admitted to the Keonjhar district headquarters hospital. He succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.

The accused has been arrested and further investigation into the incident is underway, a police official said.
