Drunken man beats 5-yr-old son to death in Odisha’s Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: In yet another instance of loss of humanity and affection among people towards family, a drunken man allegedly beat his 5-year-old son to death here.

The accused identified as Dinesh Nayak, a resident of Bhursimala village under Laikera police limits in Jharsuguda district, fled the spot after the incident.

According to complaint lodged with the police by the accused’s father Pradip Nayak, his son Dinesh after returning home in an inebriated condition had scolded and thrashed everyone in the family last night. Even he did not spare his son Subham. He continued beating up his son following which the little son sustained deep injury on his head.

The victim was rushed to Laikera hospital in critical condition. Later, he was shifted to Jharsuguda district headquarters hospital, where he was declared dead at around 1.00 am.

However, the accused father absconded following the incident.

Police launched probe into the matter on basis of the complaint.
