Dubai-return Odisha youth denies for COVID-19 test; forced to remain in isolation

Keonjhar: An untoward incident occurred at Gambharia village under Town Police limits in Keonjhar district after a youth with foreign travel history refused to undergo Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) test.

Strongly reacting to adamant behaviour of the youth, the locals kept him under isolation to prevent possible spread of deadly virus in the village.

According to reports, a youth had returned to Odisha from Dubai five days ago. After reaching the home state, he was staying at his father-in-law’s house at Gambharia village.

After the matter came to fore, the villagers asked the youth to undergo medical test to know presence of coronavirus in his body. However, the youth denied to go through such medical examinations.

Mounting pressure on the youth for the test, the villagers kept him in a quarantine at home.

Yesterday, a team of doctors reached the village and convinced the youth for the test.

Sources said, the doctors will collect the blood and swab samples of the youth today and send it for test.
