The duped chit fund investors, under the banner of ‘Arthika Sanstha Mananka Dwara Kshyatigrastanka Milita Mancha’, will gherao the State Secretariat in Odisha capital on April 15 to protest against the government apathy towards paying them their deposited amount.

SRP Rabi Das Chit Fund ProtestIn a release on Wednesday, the Mancha came down heavily on the government for encouraging the chit fund companies for over a decade and accused the state police and the Crime Branch of tampering with the evidence.

It also pulled up the government for tactfully avoiding a discussion in the State Assembly as the Advocate General, appointed by it, presented wrong information to the Supreme Court and denied the legislators their rights to participate in the debate.

It said the Supreme Court had ordered for a CBI probe and asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to identify the money trail.

As the CBI probe into 2-3 chit fund companies had revealed the involvement of top political leaders, senior bureaucrats, mines mafia and land mafia in the mega scam, the state government had tried its best to hush up the matter.

The Mancha, led by its chief advisor Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, convenor Jayant Das and senior journalist Rabi Das will also meet Justice Madan Mohan Das, heading the chit fund commission of inquiry, at his at his Reserve Police Lines office in Cuttack on April 13 and submit him a memorandum on proper identification of genuine investors to enable them to get back their money, the release added.
