Duty call allowance of home guards hiked in Odisha; check details

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has hiked the monthly duty call allowance of home guards to Rs 12,480.

The government increased the allowance to Rs 416 per day from Rs 300. Earlier, the home guards were getting a monthly allowance of Rs 9,000. With the hike, the personnel will now receive Rs 12,480 per month.

The decision was taken at a high level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra following directions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The CM has approved the proposal on hike of allowance for home guards.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had expressed displeasure over low salary of home guards in Odisha and directed the state government to reconsider its earlier decision of paying Rs 9,000 per month.
