Eastern Range IGP reviews security arrangements for President Murmu’s Odisha visit

Rairangpur: Inspector General of Police (IGP)-Eastern Range Himanshu Kumar Lal today reviewed the security arrangements made for President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Odisha scheduled on November 20.

A meeting of the Reserve Police Force (RPF) and the district police personnel deployed in the security arrangement was convened at the local stadium in Rairangpur town of Mayurbhanj district. The President will arrive here on a three-day official visit. The IGP-Eastern Range also had a meeting with Mayurbhanj Superintendent of Police (SP) S Susree in this regard earlier in the day. At least 56 platoons of force including special police teams have been deployed in the President’s security arrangement, an official source said.

Worth mentioning, the President will take part in a number of programmes during her visit. After reaching in the afternoon, she will attend a conference and literary festival which is being organised by the Santali Writers’ Association at Sahid Smruti Bhawan in Baripada town on November 20. The President will inaugurate Ekalavya model residential school at Kuliana of Mayurbhanj on the same day.

On the second day of her visit, President Murmu will inaugurate three Express trains. On this occasion, she will travel from Badampahad to Rairangpur by train. She will leave for Andhra Pradesh on November 22.
