Eatery fined for opening shop without requisite permission in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipality Corporation (BMC) today imposed fine on a sweet shop for violating lockdown restrictions enforced in the city.

Bidyadhar Das, the owner of shop located near a railway over bridge (ROB) connecting Saheed Nagar and Bomikhal area, was slapped with a fine amount of Rs 5,000 for opening the shop without requisite permission from the BMC.

A source in the BMC said that the eatery is not included in the list of shops that have been allowed to operate after the Ministry of Home issued notification relaxing the norms during second phase of nationwide lockdown.

Only five dhabas have been given permission to resume operation in Khordha district, he said.
