Eatery owner in Odisha throws hot food on minor for asking money

Rayagada, Feb 5:

In an inhuman incident, a minor child has sustained injuries after a roadside eatery owner allegedly threw hot chaat on him as he asked for his remuneration in Odisha’s Rayagada town.

 

According to reports, the minor child identified as Charan Huika was working as a help with a roadside chaat stall (snacks eatery) on Convent Road here.

When the child residing in Goutam Nagar area asked for his pay, the employer got infuriated and poured hot food on his head.

“I asked him for money. He threw hot chaat on me while I was sitting on a chair,” the minor victim said.

The victim and his mother have lodged a complaint with the Rayagada police station after which Labour department has initiated probe into the allegations.

“I was not there at home. I had gone to work. I was unaware whether he goes to work or not. He used to say that he goes out to play,” victim’s mother said.

Meanwhile, the eatery owner is absconding after the incident.
