Entry to Bhubaneswar railway station restricted from this side; here’re details

Bhubaneswar: In view of the government’s decision for railway stations to follow the Covid guidelines and to handle the pandemic situation, the East Coast Railway has taken steps at the Bhubaneswar railway station to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Thermal scanning of all railway passengers is being done only at Platform Number- 1. Also, baggage scanning machine and baggage sanitizing machine have been installed at Platform Number- 1 side. Baggage wrapping machine has been installed at Platform Number- 1.

To effectively manage crowd and maintain proper discipline in social distancing, entry by Platform Number- 1 is allowed as of now, the ECoR said.

“Because of Covid-19, 50% employees are working in roster duty. As staffs are less, it would be difficult to provide security at platform no-6 side, if opened. As there are no train services on Platform no-6, the opening of gate will involve wasteful expenditure and create security hazards,” the ECoR statement added.

Staffs coming in contact with passengers at mass contact areas like booking and reservation offices and Train Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTEs) are specially being sensitized.
