The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today raided controversial self-proclaimed godman Sarathi Baba’s ashram at Barimul in Odisha’s Kendrapara district.

A three-member team of the ED led by Joint Director Shivaji Rout which arrived at the Barimul ashram of Sarathi Baba aka Santosh Roul around noon quizzed latter’s mother and three of his associates residing there.

While local police had no prior information of the ED team’s visit to the ashram, Sadar Police visited the ashram after being informed by the policemen on duty there about ED team’s visit.

The ED team left for Bhubaneswar at about 3 PM on completion of its questioning of the ashram’s residents.

It is worthwhile to mention here that Sarathi Baba is cooling his heels at the Choudwar Circle Jail ever since his arrest on August 8, 2015, after he was embroiled in controversies concerning his stay with a young woman medico in a hotel in Hyderabad and several other cases.
