ED to probe Dhenkanal shelter home’s financial transaction

Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) will probe the allegations of sexual exploitation of minor girl inmates at Good News India shelter home at Beltikri in Dhenkanal district.

During the investigation, the ED will investigate the financial transaction and source of foreign funding of the shelter home.

“The amount of foreign funds and from where the shelter home was receiving such funds will be brought under the purview of the investigation,” said an official.

Besides, the economic intelligence agency has asked the Dhenkanal police to submit a copy of the FIR and chargesheet of the case, said ED joint director.

Worth mentioning, minor girls at the shelter home at Beltikri, on November 30, had leveled  charges of sexual harassment against the institute in-charge Simanchal Nayak and NGO head Fayaz Rehman. The shelter home is also allegedly involved in forceful religious conversion and human trafficking.
