Education For All: The motto of St Xavier’s High School, Dhenkanal

With the mission to enable all students achieve their potential through quality instructional programme and a shared commitment to continuous improvement, the institution was founded in Dhenkanal by Dr. G S Pattnaik, the Managing Director of the St. Xavier’s Group of schools on 30th March 2008.

It’s an established well managed private school, works for promotion of the educational standard of the students. It is affiliated to CBSE- Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, Vide Affiliation No-1530207. The school also has attained NOC- from the Government of Odisha.

The school is awarded with Best Promising school in Dhenkanal by the Education Minsiter of Odisha, Sri. Sameer Ranjan Das on 30th June 2021, organized and hosted by Zee Odisha.

Keeping the motto of ‘Education For All’, the institution has touched the lives of thousands of children over the last 13 years. As its founder has envisioned, the institution is in constant efforts to make positive changes in the life of every individual who come in contact with it, thereby empowering the society.

Located over the lush green campus at Ranapasi, Gengutia , Dhenkanal- 759013, the school is under the management of the Savior Charitable Trust (Regd.), which is constituted of educationists and philanthropists. The Trust is renowned for its consistent presence in welfare and developmental activities among weaker sections of society.

The school is fully functional from Std  1 to 10.

Scheme of Education
Pre-Primary (Montessori), Middle and Secondary
Fundamental personality traits and intellectual development of an individual are attained within the five years of life. Training, recognition, care and love that the children receive make permanent imprints in their mind. That is why the Montessori classes are high relevance. Considering this, St. Xavier’s High School has set a separate campus for Pre-Primary with digital classrooms and learning software are provided here to bring about the total development of children. Care and love of teachers as well as Ayahs here make the place feel as another home for children. Student centered teaching methods are adopted to identify the need of each child and help them to grow into full potential. Prime importance is given to develop speaking, listening, reading and cognitive skills. Socialization skills as well as manners and habits are nurtured for equipping them to study well in higher classes. Students are given admission in three+ age groups, viz. Montessori-1, (4+ years) Montessori-2, (5 + years) Montessori-3.
Primary (Class I – IV) & Primary classes from 1 to 4 give the foundation for formal education in higher classes. The school curriculum is planned in a systematic way so as to develop communication skills, activity, knowledge and moral values. Ample provisions are made available to express and nurture the inherent talents of children. Teachers provide friendly guidance and help to overcome learning difficulties faced by certain children. The common objective is to make students self –reliant in learning various subjects and fluent in three languages.
While following CBSE curriculum, more facilities and options for co-scholastic development are provided. Rigorous attention is given at this stage to identify students with high potential in sports and other scholastic areas.
Middle (Class- V- VIII)
Middle classes are the stepping stones to select subjects. During this period, teachers and parents can identify the prominent aptitude of children and guide them to the practical applications of various subjects. Being in their physiological transformation stage, they need continuous support and guidance in developing stable personality.
Secondary – (Class IX- X)
Class IX and X are systematically planned with NCERT curriculum. Ample provisions are arranged for the physical, emotional and intellectual development of students. Highly experienced teachers lead the classes. Personal attention is given to students with setbacks and those who are living away from parents.
Examination
The CBSE has renewed its evaluation scheme with two terms in an academic year. There will be two term Examinations out of which the second one is final examination. There will be two class tests each in every semester. 80% of the mark is from Term examination. 20% is from internal assignments and note book submission. Class X examinations are conducted by the CBSE. There will be Model examinations and Pre-Board exam before final Board Examination. Eligibility criteria for promotion to next higher class are 33% of marks in each subject.
Library
The habit of reading is the only enjoyment in which there is no alloy; it last when all other pleasures fade. In line with our commitment to inculcate reading habit among students, the school offers a well stocked an elaborate collection of the best and most up-to date books available. Moreover, reading habits is inculcated in students by including library hours in time table. It is enabled with latest library software modules, CDs and DVDs for demonstration of science subjects as well as language skill development. E- Library facility is an advanced option for students.
Laboratories
Systematically planned laboratories with all the hi-tech equipment for various experiments in Physics, Chemistry and Biology have been set for secondary students. Air conditioned laboratories of the school under the supervision of faculty with vast experience in scientific application act as the incubators for the future professionals in Engineering, Medicine and other Technical areas.
Computer Lab
There is a spacious and well equipped Computer Laboratory catering to the needs of all students of the school. A team of professionals in computer applications guide the students and pave the foundation for genius brains in software programming, web applications and artificial intelligence.

Achievements
The school has been raised to a greater height with the effort, hard work, and dedication of the teaching staff led by the commander Mr. Pratap Chandra Panigrahi. We achieved Cent percent result in class 10 board exam in the year 2021, securing the highest percentile -99 % by Vedanshi Panda, Anupam Nayak and Gurudutta Sutar.
The students are given ample opportunities to participate in various activities conducted by the school, by district administrative and CBSE. They come out with flying colors bringing glory to the school.
