Education Minister approves opening of KV at MCL Subhadhra in Angul

New Delhi: Union Education Minister-cum-Chairman of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Dharmendra Pradhan has approved a proposal for opening of a new Kendriya Vidyalaya at the Mahanadi Coal Limited Subhadhra Area in Angul.

The new KV will have Classes I to V from the academic year 2022-23 with consequential growth based on feasibility. Each class will have single section at the new KV.

The admission process for the academic year 2022-23 has to be completed in 30 days from the date of issuance of the order.

In an order, the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan stated the MCL, Subhadhra Area will be responsible to provide:
a) Permanent vidyalaya building as per the specifications of the KVS
b) 100% staff quarters to all the staff of the Kendriya Vidyalaya
c) All recurring and non-recurring expenditure including 15% administrative over-head charges and future development expenditure.

The sponsor, MCL Subhadhra Area shall remit the budgeted amount of recurring and non-recurring expenditure in advance installments to the Deputy Commissioner, KVS, Bhubaneswar region. The first installment must be paid in the month of April and second installment in the month of October for each financial year.

The order further stated in case the sponsor fails to fulfill their commitment as agreed to the Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is empowered to reduce the number of classes and sections and also direct the closure of the KV by giving due notice to the sponsor.
