Bibeka succumbed to the burn injuries sustained during the suicide attempt at the Bolangir district headquarters hospital on Sunday night after escaping from the brick kiln at Hyderabad, where he had gone with his family to work.

“Our priority now is to rescue the missing wife of the deceased, who was gang raped by the brick kiln owner and his associates. We are trying to get the address of the locality where the deceased labourer was staying with his family members,” the minister told the media.

“The development commissioner is having discussions in this regard with his Andhra Pradesh counterpart,” he said.

Mallick also informed that the authorities of the Home departments of the two states will have a meeting in this regard very soon.

“The state government will make all possible arrangements in the matter,” he added.
