Egg attack on Jual Oram: Odisha cops arrest seven

Kendrapara: Police today arrested seven persons and forwarded them to court in connection with the egg attack on Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram’s vehicle at Aul in Odisha’s Kendrapara district.

Police arrested Chakradhar Mallick, Lambodhar Jena, Ranjan Gochhayat, Dusasan Mallick, Sanatan Mallick, Rajesh Singh and Niranjan Behera, informed Gobardhan Sahu, Sub Inspector of Aul police station.

They were sent to judicial custody as their bail pleas were rejected by the Aul Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court.

Notably, several BJD workers had allegedly hurled eggs at Oram’s vehicle at Aul Bazaar on June 14 when the minister was on his way to Rajkanika in the district to attend ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ programme.

Senior BJP leader Braja Sundar Bhuyan has filed an FIR at the Aul police station accusing 22 persons in the incident.
