Bhubaneswar: Eight police personnel among 126 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Bhubaneswar in the last 24 hours. With the fresh cases, the capital city’s tally surged to 2861, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today.
Out of total fresh cases, 77 have been detected from different quarantine centres while remaining 49 are local contacts. The eight police personnel, all male, had come in contact with previous positive cases.
Besides, 10 persons including a 4-year-old boy and two teenagers of Unit 1 Tarini Basti and six persons from Tapabana Basti in Khandagiri have tested positive for the virus.
Currently, the state capital has 1276 active cases. While 1566 have recovered, 17 succumbed to the virus so far.
